The Motor City Tune-Up brings the Cwench Next Gen Series to Detroit for a premier weekend of hockey featuring the 2017, 2018 and 2019 birth years.
The event combines three previous Cwench Next Gen Series events—the Battle for the Windy City in Chicago, the Pacific Rim Challenge in Vancouver and the Green Mountain Cup in Vermont—into one larger destination event. Bringing all three age groups together allows programs to travel with multiple teams while creating the energy and atmosphere that comes with having several divisions competing in one location.
For the 2017 division, the Motor City Tune-Up is strategically scheduled just a few weeks before teams head to Edmonton for the Brick Invitational, providing one final weekend of high-level competition and preparation before the Brick. The 2018 and 2019 pre-Brick age groups will compete alongside them, giving younger players and families the opportunity to experience the excitement of a Brick-focused weekend while competing against top programs from across North America.
Detroit was selected as the host city because of its central location, ease of travel and affordability for programs and families traveling from across North America.
Non-Cwench Next Gen Series members must receive tournament approval to participate. If approval is not granted, the registration deposit will be fully refunded.
